Two Geniuses Planned to Raise Homeless Army and Take Over an Exotic Island

Image
An indictment filed in a Texas federal court accuses Gavin Rivers Weisenburg, 21, and Tanner Christopher Thomas, 20, of planning to recruit an army of homeless people, buy a sailboat and seize power on Gonave Island, an island off the coast of Haiti with a population of about 87,000 residents. The two young men allegedly planned to recruit homeless people from Washington, D.C. to serve as their “mercenary force” during their grand coup d’etat. According to court files, Weisenburg and Thomas had researched Gonave Island and concluded that it had a very weak government, almost no infrastructure, and had been crippled by poverty. They concluded that it could be taken over through a brutal invasion that would eliminate the local men and turn the women and children into slaves. Prosecutors claim that the two men had been working on the invasion since August 24, working tirelessly to further their ambitious plan. Weisenburg allegedly enrolled in a fire academy around Dallas to receive tra...

Man Disguises Himself As His Deceased Mother to Continue Collecting Her Pension

Image
Pension fraud is pretty common in Italy, with dozens of people arrested every year for impersonating someone who has died to collect their pension. However, some people go to incredible lengths in order to keep up appearances and the money flowing in. Case in point, a 57-year-old unemployed male nurse who disguised himself as his deceased mother in order to renew her ID card and thus continue receiving her pension. Investigators believe that Graziella Dall’Oglio died of natural causes at the age of 82, in the town of Borgo Virgilio, close to the city of Mantua. However, her son, whose name has not been revealed by the media, never declared her death, instead preserving her body in the family home and impersonating her for three years in order to continue receiving her pension. For three years, no one asked any questions, and the woman’s son kept collecting his mother’s pension, but his plan came crashing down earlier this month, when he was forced to renew his mother’s expired ID ca...

AI is not the next trend—it is the next foundational shift after the Internet: Harnath Babu, CIO, KPMG India

Image
In a rapidly shifting digital landscape, where AI capabilities are evolving faster than organisations can absorb them, Harnath Babu, CIO of KPMG India, offers a grounded yet visionary perspective on what truly matters. In this candid conversation with Express Computer, he explains how enterprises have moved beyond experimentation and are now deploying complex, high-ROI AI use cases that are reshaping business performance. Harnath highlights a striking trend: AI models that could solve only 3–5% of coding tasks three years ago can now handle nearly 80%, dramatically compressing development cycles — in some cases turning two-year projects into 40-hour builds. He also reveals how Agentic AI is emerging as the next architectural leap, where business processes are decomposed into autonomous, goal-driven agents that work in parallel, transforming workflows like market research, cybersecurity, and invoice processing The post AI is not the next trend—it is the next foundational shift after ...

He called into a radio station to boast of finding the corpse, saying the discovery was ‘amazing’ rather than disturbing. The man, who called himself Joseph but refused to give his real name, said he was ‘exploring nature and look what I came upon.’ When hosts pressed him on what he had found, he replied that it was a dead body: ‘It was amazing. It was, ah, this may sound sick, but I’ve always wanted to come upon something like that, and luckily it was months old, so that was nice.’ When horrified hosts pressed him about whether he had informed police, he said he had dreamed about doing so the night before, but had not yet done so in reality. Man fi...

Guinness fans are divided over this pub’s ‘sacrilegious’ 60/40 blend

Image
The pint combines the alcohol-free Guinness 0.0 with the original 4.2 percenter (Picture: Artur Widak/NurPhoto via Getty Images) We Guinness drinkers are mocked relentlessly for our supposed obsession with the ‘perfect pour’ and apparent distaste for lager. Yes, some of us may be a peculiar bunch. We are known for the specific way in which we expect our drink to be poured. But who can blame us if we order a pint of the black stuff and are served something that resembles a cappuccino? And let’s not forget the skill it takes to ‘split the G’ on command. Guinness 0.0 was launched in 2020 (Picture: Matt Cardy/Getty Images) Fans may be up for another round of ridicule by their non-Guinness-drinking mates now that a controversial new twist on the iconic pub classic has dropped. Palmerstown House Pub, on Old Lucan Road in Dublin , just a short drive from St James’s Gate Brewery, where Guinness is made, has introduced a ’60/40′ blend which combines the alcohol- free Guinness 0...
